2005: 

Honda Wins Second IndyCar Manufacturers' Championship



Honda clinched its second consecutive Indy Racing League IndyCar Series Manufacturers' Championship in three seasons of competition. Honda drivers and teams posted nine race wins in 13 events in 2005, including the Indianapolis 500.
 
Honda driver Dan Wheldon recorded six wins in 2005, breaking the record for most wins in a season, en route to capturing the IRL Driver's Championship.
 
Honda driver Danica Patrick won the IRL Rookie of the Year after being the first woman to lead the Indy 500.
