2001: 

Honda Dominates in Driver's Championship



At Honda, we never stop striving for perfection. It's a work ethic that has helped Honda-powered drivers win the CART Driver's Championship for six straight years. In fact, during the 2001 season, Honda-powered drivers took three of the top four places in the Driver's Championship standings. Honda also capped off the 2001 season by winning the Manufacturer's Championship for the fourth time.

Honda wins its fourth CART Manufacturers' Championship, de Ferran repeats as drivers' champion. Valentino Rossi records Honda's 500th motorcycle GP race win at Twin Ring Motegi, then goes on to win his first MotoGP world championship. In Formula One, Honda adds Jordan as the company's second Grand Prix team, Jordan and BAR finish fifth and sixth in the F-1 Constructors' Championship.
